Chemical gas-phase filters cassette with activated carbon

Short Description:

The Chemical Gas-Phase Filters Cassette with Activated Carbon is a modular filtration system designed for targeted removal of airborne chemicals, odors, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These cassettes integrate high-capacity activated carbon (or specialty media blends) into a standardized frame for easy installation in HVAC systems, cleanrooms, and industrial air handlers.

I. Product Introduction

FafCarb VG filters may be used in side access or front/rear access housings and can be oriented for vertical or horizontal airflows.
For sustainability, a module refilling option is available with some applications. Discuss your specific needs with us.
FafCarb VG300.
A compact, refillable, corrosion-resistant V-cell molecular filter filled with activated alumina or activated carbon. Ideal for corrosion control applications in supply, recirculation, and exhaust air systems in commercial, industrial, and process applications. The design provides high removal efficiency of corrosive, odorous, and irritant gases.
• Maximum face velocity of 250 fpm.
• Patented design accommodates smaller media sizes for increased performance.
• Corrosion-resistant, refillable low-dusting construction with integrated PET screen.
• UL Rated.
• Typical target gases: hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, chlorine, hydrogen fluoride, nitrogen dioxide, and other acids and bases.

Filter Frame:
Plastic molded, ABS, PET

Media:
Activated Carbon, Impregnated Activated Carbon, Activated Alumina

Gasket:
EPDM, PU-foam

Installation options:
Front access frames and side access housings are available. See related products below.

Comment:
Four (4) modules are applied per 24" x 24" (610 x 610mm) opening.

V.FAQ

Q1: How often should carbon cassettes be replaced?
A: Monitor via:

Weight gain (>30% = replace)
Odor breakthrough
Routine testing (e.g., colorimetric tubes for target gases)
Q2: Can cassettes be reactivated?
A: No – Impregnated carbons are single-use; virgin coconut carbon can be thermally reactivated off-site.
Q3: What’s the difference between coconut and coal-based carbon?

Type Surface Area Best For
Coconut Shell 1,000–1,200 m²/g VOCs, odors
Coal-Based 600–800 m²/g Acid gases, heavy VOCs
